Parikshit Thoudam

A total of six candidates from Manipur have cracked the UPSC civil services examination 2020, results of which were declared on Friday.

Parikshit Thoudam, who hails from Uripok Cheirap Maning in Manipur’s Imphal West district, bagged the 60th position and Waikhom Nydia Devi, a resident of Kakching Super Market in Thoubal district was ranked 180th position.

Parikshit had previously cracked the examination in 2019 and contended with the 373rd rank.

Heikrujam Prasanjeet, son of Vigilance Inspector H Nabakumar and PWD clerk Pangambam Ibemnu, was ranked 578th.

Prasanjeet hails from Imphal and he topped the Higher Secondary Examination in 2011 in the Science stream.

Waikhom studied in Padma Ratna English School Kakching till Class X and was state topper in the HSLC exam in 2009.

Nydia’s father Ibotombi is a retired driver of the state Medical Department, while her mother Radhamani is a nurse in the same department.

The other three candidates from the state who excelled in the exam are Kshetrimayum Deepi Chanu (621 rank), Hatchinghoi Haokip, (673 rank), Lourembam Nelson Mangangcha (757 rank).

While Deepi Chanu hails from Kakching Paji Leikai Keithel Macha Pareng, Hatchinghoi Haokip is from Tuibong in Churachandpur district.

Kshetrimayum Deepi Chanu’s father Deben is a retired Group Captain of the Indian Air Force and is currently working as a captain in Indigo.
