Security forces arrest four
In the first operation, security forces apprehended Kishan Chauhan (29) of Ngamkhai Veng, Moreh Bus Parking, from inside the United Commercial Bank (UCO) building in Moreh.

Imphal: Security forces arrested four individuals, including a senior insurgent, on charges ranging from bank robbery to possession of illegal firearms and contraband opium, in a series of operations across Manipur on Sunday, police reported on Monday.

In the first operation, security forces apprehended Kishan Chauhan (29) of Ngamkhai Veng, Moreh Bus Parking, from inside the United Commercial Bank (UCO) building in Moreh.

The individual had broken into the bank and attempted to steal an air conditioner (AC), a sound box, and electric batteries. An audio sound box and an AC stolen earlier were recovered from his possession.

In a second operation, Hefajuddin Mayangmayum (42) of Komlakhong Makha Leikai, Imphal West district, was arrested at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex with 1.002 kg of contraband opium, police reported.

A mobile phone, an Aadhaar card, and an ATM card were also seized from him.

Security forces also arrested Sagolshem Boicha Singh (42), alias Tayai, of Sawombung Gate, Imphal East district, along with illegal arms and ammunition. A .32 pistol, two magazines, ten rounds of ammunition, a mobile phone, and an Aadhaar card were recovered from his possession.

The arrest and seizure occurred at Laipham Khunou Mayai Leikai under Lamphel Police Station, Imphal West district.

Finally, Angom Sana Meitei (58), alias Shaymchand, a self-styled Private of the proscribed Revolutionary Peopleโ€™s Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK), of Torbung Sabal Leikai, Bishnupur district, presently residing at Hiyangthang, was captured from the Sawombung Khunjao area under Lamlai Police Station, Imphal East district.

Reports added that all the arrested individuals, along with the seized items, have been handed over to the relevant police stations for further legal proceedings.
