Even though Manipur witnessed the sudden increase of COVID19 cases in the last one week, a total of 169 patients recovered and discharged from 15 COVID care facilities.

The patients were discharged after they were found COVID19 free on RT-PCR test in the last 24 hours, official sources said.

Manipur’s recovery rate is 74.87%.

Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours, the state reported 156 new COVID19 cases including 2 personnel from Central armed police force, said COVID 19 common control room in a press release on Friday evening.

The new COVID19 positive cases were confirmed at 23 testing facilities in the state, the release said.

The positive cases from the general population are from 12 districts.

In the past 24 hours, 169 persons were discharged from 15 COVID care facilities after they were found COVID19 free on RT-PCR test, it added.

On the other hand, five persons aged 73yrs (male, Churachandpur), 22yrs (male, Churachandpur), 50yrs (female, Chandel), 59yrs (female, Imphal East) and 59 yrs (female, Imphal West) expired at Home isolation, JNIMS, district hospital Chandel and two at RIMS in the last 24 hours, the release added.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 16,777 while the numbers of active and recovered cases are 4,083 and 12,562 respectively, it added.

As of Friday, 4,19,517 people were screened at various entry points into the state, while 3,33,718 individuals were tested for the disease, said, officials.

The state health department has urged the public to self-isolate and contact Covid control room or the chief medical officer for testing on coming in contact with a Covid19 positive person.
