Imphal: Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh chaired a review meeting with senior officials at the Secretariat on Thursday evening to assess the progress and roadmap of ongoing rehabilitation efforts.
The meeting followed a session in which the Chief Minister patiently listened to grievances related to resettlement, pensions, education, and healthcare raised by Kuki-Zo MLAs during a video conference with representatives from Churachandpur and Kangpokpi districts.
At the distribution of benefits to IDPs via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) in Imphal West, the Chief Minister stated that around Rs 33 crore was released for IDPs on Thursday.
In a post on X, the Chief Minister wrote:
“Chaired a review meeting with senior officials this evening at the Secretariat to assess the progress and roadmap of ongoing rehabilitation efforts. Held detailed deliberations on strengthening rehabilitation measures in key sectors such as education, healthcare, and connectivity, with a focus on ensuring sustainable solutions and lasting benefits for the affected communities. Reaffirmed our commitment to a coordinated, people-centric approach to restore normalcy and build a stronger, more resilient Manipur.”
An official statement added that during interactions with IDPs at the venue and via video conference, the Chief Minister listened attentively to grievances regarding resettlement, pensions, education, and healthcare.
IDPs from Nghamun Relief Camp (Kangpokpi), represented by Minister Nemcha Kipgen; Torbung Prefabricated (Churachandpur), represented by MLA Letzamang Haokip; Sadhbhav Mandap, Khominthang (Churachandpur), represented by MLA L.M. Khaute; and Sadhbhav Mandap, Tuibong (Churachandpur), represented by MLA Paolienlal Haokip, joined virtually.
MLA L.M. Khaute raised issues regarding job cards and financial entitlements. The Chief Minister stated that special job cards can be transferred between districts through an official process and informed that pending cases may be submitted through the respective MLAs.
