Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh on Wednesday sought the blessings of the Almighty in tackling the Covid-19 pandemic in the state.
Singh visited the Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple in Imphal and offered prayers before the presiding deity.

The state has witnessed a rapid surge in infections during the past few days that has become a major source of concern for the Manipur government.

Although the state government has taken a slew of measures to curb the spread of infections, positive cases continue to rise.

The government also extended curfew in seven districts, which have recorded the maximum number of positive cases, till June 11.
The districts are Imphal East, Imphal West, Bishnupur, Thoubal, Kakching, Churachandpur and Ukhrul.
