Manipur CM inspects Dinku Road

Imphal: A day after meeting Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi, Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh flew to Imphal and inspected ongoing development work at Dinku Road on Wednesday.

The Chief Minister was accompanied by MLA Thangjam Arunkumar Singh and other senior officials.

The Dinku Road project in Imphal includes improvements to Bamonkampu Dinku Road and enhancements in front of the Inter-State Bus Terminus (ISBT) between the western and eastern gates.

As part of broader urban infrastructure development to improve connectivity and manage traffic, this project is often mentioned alongside larger initiatives such as the 51.23 km Imphal Ring Road project.

In an X post, the Chief Minister wrote: “Emphasized the need to accelerate the pace of work without compromising on quality, so that the public can benefit at the earliest. Once completed, this vital road will greatly improve connectivity, ease traffic congestion, and reduce travel time for commuters.”

“Our government remains committed to strengthening infrastructure across the state, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modiโ€™s vision of enhancing ‘Ease of Living’ and building a developed Manipur. Together, we move forward towards progress and prosperity,” he added.

Additionally, during his meeting with the Union Transport Minister, the Chief Minister requested special attention to the stateโ€™s proposal for an elevated highway and the strengthening of national highways.
