Assam Rifles troops deployed in Manipur apprehended an active militant cadre, belonging to the Liberation Tigers of Tribals (LTT).
The cadre of the Liberation Tigers of Tribals was nabbed at Bethani area in Manipur’s Nonei district recently.
The Assam Rifles personnel later handed over the militant cadre to the police at Patsoi police station in Imphal for further investigation.
“Unit of Assam Rifles in Manipur apprehended an active cadre of LTT gp from General Area Bethani, Nonei District, Manipur on 09 Apr 2021. The indl has been handed over to Patsoi Police Stn, Imphal for further investigation,” Assam Rifles said on its Twitter handle.

The Liberation Tigers of Tribals (LTT) was formed in 2018.
The outfit, since its formation in August 2018, has been involved in various militant as well as criminal and illegal activities including kidnapping, extortion and illegal tax collection.
The militant outfit is reportedly active only in a few districts of Manipur, including Jiribam, Nonei, Pherzawl and Tamenglong districts.
Liberation Tigers of Tribals (LTT) is a non-signatory of Suspension of Operation (SoO) which is a breakaway faction of the United Tribal Liberation Army (UTLA), an armed wing of Kuki National Organisation (KNO).
