Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh chaired a meeting of all political parties on April 7, condemning the recent violence in Tronglaobi and urging calm across the state.
Political leaders met at the Chief Ministerโs Secretariat to review the recent unrest in Tronglaobi. They called the attack a โcowardly actโ and expressed worry over rising tensions in the state.
Representatives from all parties urged people to stay united and work toward peace during this sensitive time.
Those present pledged complete support to the governmentโs efforts to restore normalcy. It was agreed that the perpetrators would be quickly identified, arrested, and punished in accordance with the law.
A joint statement called on citizens to stay calm and avoid acts of violence or damage to public property. Participants underlined the role of public cooperation in preserving peace and order.
The meeting brought together leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Indian National Congress (INC), National People’s Party, Naga People’s Front, and the Communist Party of India.
Former Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh and ex-Deputy Chief Minister Yumnam Joykumar Singh were also in attendance, adding their support to the calls for peace.
