Sixty persons ‘without any significant travel history’ among 67 patients, were tested positive for COVID-19, officials said on Sunday.
Forty-seven personnel from the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were also tested positive for COVID 19, taking the total number of cases to 5,246 in the state, official sources said on Sunday.

Confirming this, COVID-19 common control room in Imphal in a press release on Sunday evening said that 67 persons (39 male, 22 female) from general population and 47 from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF), were confirmed as new COVID-19 positive cases in the past 24 hours.
“7(seven) persons out of the general population are returnee from other states whereas the rest 60 are locals without any significant travel history. They are being shifted to the COVID Care facilities,” it said.
The release also informed that there is no report of death due to COVID -19 on Sunday adding that the cumulative number of deaths is 22.

The state had reported its first death due to COVID 19 on July 29 while the first COVID 19 case on March 24.
Till date the cumulative number of recovered cases is 3,455 while the number of active cases is 1, 608, it added.
The recovery rate is 68.92 per cent.
