Manipur Health and Family Welfare Minister Langpoklakpam Jayantakumar Singh on Saturday appealed to the doctors and nurses to maintain their professional ethics while serving the patients.
Minister Jayentakumar made the appeal while inaugurating a newly constructed Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Moirangpurel under Imphal East District on Saturday.
Stating that the government has been giving due importance to boost the health sector of the State, he said, the new trend of health services in the present context is moving towards a new direction.
He said that with the rapid change and new development of the society, various complex diseases come in. ‘We need to prepare to meet the new challenges in the contemporary society,’ he added.
Stating the necessity to improve the health service Jayantakumar maintained that the present government has opened health and wellness centres to keep tab on mental wellness of the people.
The government also has opened free diagnostic centres at different district hospitals in the interest of the poor and needy people, he added.
In his presidential speech, the Forest and Municipal Administration, Housing & Urban Development Minister Th Shyamkumar Singh said that the people of Moirang Purel and adjoining villages should take the benefit from the newly opened PHC.
The locals should also feel the new facility as their own, he said.
Minister Shyamkumar who is also the local MLA of the area assured for improvement of major district road from Nongdam Lamkhai to Maphou Dam before January 20, 2019 besides taking up the improvement works of the mobile phone services at Moirangpurel and surrounding areas.
Director Dr K Rajo Singh of Health Services, Director Ng Uttam Singh of Minority Affairs, Government of Manipur, Director Dr S Manikanta Singh of State Mission, National Health Mission, Managing Director Rajen Haobijam of Raj Medicity, Imphal and Social Worker Th Babita Devi also attended the inaugural function as guests of honour.
Moiranpurel PHC was constructed by District Rural Development Authority, Imphal East District under the financial assistance from Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India which is implemented by Directorate of Minority Affairs, Government of Manipur. There is a proposal to run the PHC as a public private partnership (PPP) model between Manipur Government and Raj Medicity.
