An improvised explosive device (IED) was recovered by security forces from Thoubal district in Manipur on Wednesday.
Police officials said troops of the Assam Rifles detected the IED at Wangjing Urakhong area in the district during regular patrolling.
According to police the IED was planted by suspected militants at around 10 am.
After the detection of the IED, the security forces immediately cordoned off the area and informed the police.
The bomb squad of the police reached the spot and safely detonated the IED at a nearby place, police added.
