While high school students are developing leadership skills, Harvard undergraduates and prospective teachers from Manipur are learning how to be effective teachers.
By interacting with one another, all three groups will gain a deeper understanding of teaching and learning as well as expand their worldviews as they share experiences with people from many different backgrounds.
An important component of the programme is cultural immersion, where the Harvard team learned about the history and culture of Manipur by visiting various sites with the teaching team from Manipur.
While interacting with the team, Biren Singh highlighted to the team from Harvard about the state’s salubrious climate and unique flora and fauna including rare Sangai and largest freshwater lake in the Northeast, Loktak.
He also invited the team to the 5th Statehood Women’s (International) Polo Tournament underway at Mapal Kangjeibung.
