Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh has stated that his government “will not stay silent nab the culprits” involved in Monday’s shooting incident.
At least one BJP worker and a security personnel of the IRBn lost their lives after miscreants opened fire at them on Monday night.

Manipur CM Biren Singh, on Tuesday morning, met the families of the victims at Samurou area in Imphal West district.
While condoling the demise of the BJP worker and the security personnel, Biren Singh said: “Our government will not spare those involved in the crime.”

“The government stands with families of the victims,” he added.
The two deceased have been identified as Abujam John, a BJP worker and Sashikanta, an IRBn personnel.
John is stated to be a close associate of Manipur agriculture minister O Lukhoi.
Samurou area falls under Wangoi Assembly constituency from where the Manipur agriculture minister is a sitting MLA.
While, 59-year-old Abujam John died on the spot, Sashikanta succumbed to his injuries at Raj Medicity hospital in Imphal on Tuesday morning.
