The foundation stone laying ceremony for the construction of Drug Testing Laboratory and a Homeopathy Pharmacy was held at Keirao Khunou in Manipur’s Imphal East District.
Health and Family Welfare Minister L Jayantakumar Singh and Keirao MLA l Rameshwor Meetei attended the function as chief guest and special guest.

Director AYUSH Dr A Guneshwar Sharma, Director Sericulture, KK Singh and Dr Y Lukhoi Singh attended the ceremony as guests of honour.
In his speech Minister Jayantakumar Singh said that without any service, one should stop thinking of a gain and instead one should ask whether he/she has done anything good for the day.
Expressing that one should not sit idle at home, he said rendering a good service will have its positive outcome. He said that after the completion of the Homeopathy Pharmacy and Drug Testing Laboratory, the people in and around Keirao will be able to generate employment and their income by growing medicinal plants.

About the availability of herbal values available here, the minister said that medicinal plants grown in different parts of the state, especially in the hilly terrains, remains useless due to lack of knowledge and awareness. The recently concluded AROGYA FAIR gave an opportunity to the farmers to know about the prospects of the medicinal herbs found in the state.
Explaining about the importance of AYUSH, he said that AYUSH system of treatment is not only cost effective but also more convenient to public as it is also associated with nature care.
In his address, Keirao MLA Rameshwor said that acknowledging its poor health facilities in Keirao constituency, the present government is constructing a 50 Bedded Hospital Ayush Hospital, a Homeopathy College apart from laying foundation stone for the construction of Drug Testing Laboratory and a Homeopathy Pharmacy. He also lauded the sincere efforts of the health minister for taking initiative to improve health of the people of Keirao.
On the other hand Joint Secretary Rang Peter maintained that the public should think that the infrastructures set up for the benefit of the people as their own asset.
