The cumulative number of COVID19 positive cases in Manipur has risen to 6,382 while the recovered cases stand at 4,450 on Tuesday, health department officials said.

In the past 24 hours, 127 persons, including 83 male and 44 female, from the general population and 3 from the Central Armed Police Force were confirmed as new COVID19 positive cases in the state, Dr Kh Sasheekumar Mangang, additional director and spokesperson of the health department said on Tuesday evening.

Dr Mangang informed that the infected persons are from Imphal West, Imphal East, Thoubal, Tamenglong, Jiribam, Bishnupur, Churachandpur, Ukhrul, Senapati and Kangpokpi districts.

Stating that two persons out of the general population are returnees from other states, while the rest 125 are locals without any significant travel history, the statement said.

They are being shifted to COVID care facilities.

Meanwhile, a 55-year-old woman from Thoubal district expired at RIMS, it said adding the cumulative number of deaths is 29.

In the past 24 hours, 120 persons were also discharged after their recovery from nine COVID care facilities in the state, it added.

The cumulative number of recovered cases now stands at 4,450 while the number of active cases is 1, 903.

The recovery rate is 69.72%, the statement added.
