Two more persons tested positive for COVID-19 in Manipur on Tuesday, taking the state’s overall tally to nine.
This was confirmed by additional health director Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang in a press statement issued on Tuesday.
He further informed that so far 2 persons have been discharged from the hospital and 7 are undergoing treatment.

The two new cases have been identified as a 64-year-old lady and her 23-year-old daughter and the two were tested at the Virus Research and Diagnostic Laboratory, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences and they were found positive for COVID-19.
“They left Delhi on May 14 and reached Imphal on May 16,” the Health Department release said. “All necessary precautionary measures are taken up,” the release added.
In another development, the State Health Department on Tuesday decided to expand COVID-19 testing to cover all returnees to the State.
“Sample collection teams have been established in various districts for this purpose,” an official release stated.
