In the wake of the coronavirus outbreak, the Manipur government has ordered the authorities to shut down all schools and colleges in the state till March 31.

The decision to shut down schools has been taken as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of coronavirus, stated government officials.

IN an order issued on Thursday it was stated all government and private schools and colleges will remain closed till March 31 until further notice to reduce mass gatherings.

The order further stated that the ongoing examinations, however, will not be affected and they will continue as it is.

Shut down notices have been issued in several other states as well and accordingly, the Delhi government has asked the schools and cinema halls to remain closed till March 31.

In India, so far 73 persons have tested positive for coronavirus.
