Imphal: Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Saturday inspected the site ongoing construction work of the multi-crore Manipur Bhavan, Dwarka, New Delhi, an official statement said on Sunday.

Taking his X post, Manipur CM said, “The Bhavan, once completed, is poised to be a valuable asset for Manipur residents in Delhi and a cultural landmark representing our vibrant heritage.”

The deadline for completion of the works has been rescheduled to March 2024.

The Manipur Bhavan in Dwarka is a seven-storeyed building with 104 rooms including VIP rooms, a dormitory, a conference hall, public rooms as well as a medical room.

The built-up area is 3899.42 square metres and the construction has been taken up at an estimated cost of Rs 147.71 crore.

Biren Singh stated that around 1 acre of land has been bought at the cost of Rs 24 crore for the construction of this Bhawan.

This Bhavan will provide accommodation and extend its services for various purposes including health care facilities for the people of Manipur visiting Delhi.

The Bhavan also reflects the rich heritage of Manipur and stands as a symbol of unity and pride for the state, said an official associated with the project.
