A group of 20 students from remote villages of Manipur on Wednesday called on Union DoNER Minister Dr Jitendra Singh in the national capital.
The students are on a National Integration Tour being organised by 29 Assam Rifles.
“This is a unique opportunity for the children of remote bordering areas of India” said DoNER Minister Dr Singh.
The DoNER Minister said that such tours give exposure to the students and give them confidence.
The Union Minister also expressed thanks to Assam Rifles for organising such tours and giving exposure to the children from remote areas. “This will provide children knowledge about the historical and cultural places of India,” he added.
The children belong to the age group of 13 to 20 years and are accompanied by two teachers.
The purpose of the visit is to give exposure to these students coming from the remote areas of the Northeast.
