Imphal: Manipur police have reported a significant decline in militant activity over the past one year, with 16 militants neutralized in joint operations with central security forces.
In a statement released to commemorate the 133rd Raising Day of the Manipur Police, officials detailed their efforts to combat insurgency and drug trafficking in the state.

During the past year, police registered 762 cases related to counter-insurgency operations, arresting 291 militants affiliated with various underground outfits. Additionally, over 1,000 weapons were recovered in these operations.
To address the ongoing ethnic violence and drug-related issues, the police destroyed 651 acres of poppy plantations, registered 97 cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS), and arrested 109 individuals involved in drug trafficking.
Beyond security operations, the Manipur Police also organized community outreach programs. A blood donation camp was held at the 1st Manipur Rifles Banquet Hall, with 28 police personnel participating.

To promote peace and unity, mini-marathons were conducted in Bishnupur and Churachandpur districts. The events, themed “Run for Peace,” attracted hundreds of participants, including police personnel, CAPFs, Army, AR, and local youth.
