Manipur received National Award for Poshan Abhiyan in two categories namely Field Functionary Awards – AAA(A++) Award and Leadership Award (District Level).
This is the second national award bagged by the Social Welfare, Department, Manipur in this year.
Altogether, six awardees from the State received the award in three different categories namely Leadership Award, Field Functionary Awards – Individual Excellence and AAA(A++) Award.
They are W Warthangam, Anganwadi Worker (AWW), Bongkhamsel, ASHA, Regika, ANM, Krishna Kumar, Department of Comm, Chandel, Dimkhanman Hangsing, ANM and ST Naoting Vaiphei, ASHA.
The nodal ministry for the National Nutrition Mission/ Poshan Abhiyaan – Ministry of Women and Child Development, recognized outstanding works at all levels and across Ministries/Departments during the Poshan Maah as part of the Poshan Maah Award Ceremony held in New Delhi on Wednesday.
Vice- Chairman, NITI Aayog Dr. Rajiv Kumar, Member NITI Aayog Dr Vinod K Paul, Secretary Rakesh Srivastava of Ministry of WCD and various high ranking officials of various ministries attended the award distribution ceremony.
Social Welfare Department officials including Joint Director Oinam Sonia represented the department during the award ceremony.
State Social Welfare Minister Nemcha Kipgen lauded the Department of Social Welfare, Manipur for receiving the awards. Minister Nemcha expressed that the credit for the achievement goes to the department officials, staffs, and AWW for their commitment, dedication and team work and also the Deputy Commissioner of Chandel district for the Leadership Award.
She expressed optimism that such awards and recognition will boost all the stakeholders to continue in their efforts in delivering their best for the welfare of all.
The Minister further stated that the awards are a proof of the exemplary contribution of the State Government under the leadership of Chief Minister N Biren Singh.
