Movie lovers of Manipur are in for a treat of Taiwanese films later this week.
The Critics Association Manipur is going to organize a ‘Taiwanese Evening’ from September 16 to 20 at Usha Cinema Hall in Imphal.
Interacting with media at Usha Cinema Hall in Imphal on Monday, organizer of the programme, Herojit Nongmaithem informed that the main programme of the evening would be screening of Taiwanese films which are mostly based on real life but of different genres.
He sid that the programme has been organized with an objective to explore films of different countries as this kind of exploration will also help to enhance the quality of Manipuri cinema.
He also further informed that to organize the programme, the Critics Association Manipur has taken approval from the Ministry of Culture of Taiwan and received the same to screen altogether 16 films.
However, due to paucity of time, only 10 movies will be screened, for which two films will be screened from 6 pm onwards each day.
He called upon the people to join the screenings and make the programme a success.
