Guwahati: Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) on Friday strongly rejected the response issued by the NSCN-IM to its earlier allegations, maintaining that its claims were based on documented incidents and evidence gathered from the ground.

In a statement, KIM said it disagreed with the NSCN-IM’s description of its allegations as fabricated or misleading, asserting that its June 5 statement reflected accounts from survivors and information collected regarding the ongoing ethnic conflict in Manipur.

The organisation alleged that certain NSCN-IM elements had collaborated with Meitei radical groups and accused them of providing support in activities that adversely affected Kuki communities. KIM claimed that such actions had contributed to violence, displacement and insecurity in several Kuki-inhabited areas.

While reiterating its respect for the aspirations of the Naga people, KIM stated that any movement seeking self-determination must not come at the cost of another community’s safety and rights.

The body also expressed concern over remarks allegedly made by senior NSCN-IM leaders against the Kuki community, describing such rhetoric as unacceptable and incompatible with responsible political discourse.

Calling for an end to hostilities and provocative actions, KIM urged the NSCN-IM to refrain from activities that could further deepen tensions in the region.

The organisation said it remains committed to pursuing peace and justice but would continue to safeguard the interests, security and dignity of the Kuki people.

The report is based on Kuki Inpi Manipur’s press statement dated June 6, 2026.
