Imphal: The National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN-IM) has urged Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM), the apex Kuki body in Manipur, and its affiliates to cease circulating unsubstantiated claims arising from the killing of three Kuki civilians, including a woman, in Kangpokpi district on Friday.

NSCN-IM has flatly rejected a press statement issued by KIM on June 5, which alleged that armed Naga groups were responsible for a violent pre-dawn attack at Loibol Khullen village in Kangpokpi district.

The incident resulted in the deaths of three civilians and the burning of multiple houses and two vehicles.

In a strong rebuttal, NSCN-IM accused KIM of orchestrating a โ€œsystematic fabrication, distortion, and misinformationโ€ campaign.

The statement alleged that the apex Kuki body is using unverified allegations to manipulate public narratives regarding the ongoing ethnic crisis in the region.

โ€œKIMโ€™s repeated attempts to weaponize the suffering of the dead and injured expose a cynical agenda that has become all too familiar,โ€ the NSCN-IM stated.

Describing the accusations as baseless and lacking credible evidence, the outfit noted that circulating manufactured propaganda only serves to deepen mistrust and fuel further division.

Condemning the dissemination of what it termed โ€œreckless misinformation,โ€ NSCN-IM urged KIM and its affiliates to stop circulating unsubstantiated claims.

The group also called upon the public and media organizations to rely strictly on verified facts established through impartial investigations rather than manufactured propaganda.
