After Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh formally launched the ‘Go to Villages’ on May 2 this year to address the grievances of the people, the government establishments in consultation with the local leaders continued to organize the camps of Go to Villages programme.
As done in the past, Go to Village camps, a new initiative of the BJP led coalition government in Manipur were held at various places of the State on Tuesday, according to reports available in Imphal.
Under the Go to Villages mission, the Government aims to identify eligible and deserving beneficiaries and deliver government services at their doorsteps.
There are 2,515 census villages in the State and the data collection of the requirements of those villages would be completed within 11 months.
Go to Villages camp was organised at Charoi Khullen Village for Kangvai and 2 – Leimatak covering about four villages – Charoi Khullen, Kokodan Khullen, Majuron Kabui and Dimjanglong under Churachandpur district.
Chairman of Hill Areas Committee of Manipur, T T Haokip led the officials in the mission.
Attending the function at Charoi Khullen Community Hall, Haokip also launched Poshan Abhiyaan (National Nutrition Month, 2018) besides opening Ayushman Bharat Health and Wellness Centre.
Poshan Abhiyaan (National Nutrition Mission) is a flagship programme of the Ministry of Women and Child Development which addresses aspects related to nutrition and has the potential to improve nutritional outcomes in the country with convergences to various programmes under Anganwadi Services, National Health Mission, Swachh-Bharat Mission, Public Distribution System and Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.
J C Ramthanga, Principal Secretary (Cooperation) and Nodal officer of Go to Villages mission for Churachandpur and Pherzawl Districts, Deputy Commissionner of Churachandpur Shyam Lal Poonia, SDO Kangvai Lalrongbawl Hmar and other district level officers also attended the camp wherein various entitlements like registration of job-cards, PMAY forms, Domicile-Residential/Tribe/Income Certificates, school materials (shoes), agriculture materials, Ujawala etc were distributed to beneficiaries.
Bishnupur district administration organized three camps at Pokhrambam Haraopham Community Hall for Thounaojam Pukhrambam and Lourembam (II) villages, Sunusiphai Mayai Leikai Community Hall for Phubala, Sunusiphai and Naranseina villages and Santhong Bazar for Kwakta Gram Panchayat Ward No 4,5,6,7,8 and 9.
Similarly ‘Rashtriya Poshan Abhiyan’ was launched at Purum Chumbang Community Hall in Chandel district besides organising Go to Villages camp for the villages of Purum Chumbang, Zionhang, Chandanpokpi, Old Wangpral, New Wangpral, Khunthar, Heigrutampak, Heibunglok and Khuninglong on Tuesday.
An on the spot painting competition was also held for children.
In Thoubal district, camps were held at Papal Community Hall for villages of Papal and Yaithibi Khunou.
The second camp was at Khangabok Part II Multi Purpose Hall for Khangabok Part II Gram Panchayat.
The third camp was at Ningel Lalbung for villages of Kakmayei and Ningei.
The district administration of Kakching also organised similar camps at Laimanai Community Hall for Mayang Lamjao Gram Panchayat and Waikhong Gram Panchayat.
Camps for delivery of services to the public at their doorsteps were held at Sonapur Government Primary School, Sonapur and Ahmedabad Government High School, Ahmedabad in Jiribam district.
The district administration of Imphal East also organized four camps for the district.
The first one at Takhel Chingtam Community Hall covering the villages of Takhel, Kamuchingjil, Sanjenbam Khunou, Sanjenbam Khullel, Sangsabi, Kambongpul Panthabi, Chingkhei Khullel, Kharasom and Salakhul.
