Union minister of state for home affairs Kiren Rijiju filed his nomination papers before the returning officer for the Lok Sabha election at Aalo for the 1 Arunachal West parliamentary constituency.

Informing about his filing nomination papers for the Arunachal West Lok Sabha seat, union minister Rijiju on his Twitter handle stated on Monday: “Filed my nomination papers before the Returning Officer for Lok Sabha election at Aalo for 1-Arunachal West Parliamentary Constituency.”

The other candidate, who will also contest the Lok Sabha polls for the Arunachal West seat, is former All India Mahila Congress general secretary Jarjum Ete.

She will contest the ensuing Lok Sabha elections on a Janta Dal Secular (JD-S) ticket.

It may be mentioned that Ete had sought Indian National Congress (INC) ticket for the Arunachal West seat.

However, she had resigned from the party’s primary membership in the wake of an announcement by All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Rahul Gandhi making way for ex-CM Nabam Tuki’s candidature for the seat.

Ete later joined the JD-S to contest the polls.
