A review meeting on infrastructure development works which has been carried out under the supervision of District Administration in and around Assam Cricket Association Stadium, Barsapara in Guwahati on Tuesday was held at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s for the preparation of forthcoming one day international cricket match between India and West Indies scheduled to be held on October 21 next.
The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup (Metro) Virendra Mittal.

The meeting was held to review the infrastructure development of facilities in and around ACA Stadium including roads, traffic management, drainage system, shifting of electric poles etc.
After taking the stock of progress of several works which have been carried out by departments like PWD, APDCL and GMC etc, the Deputy Commissioner asked the officials of various departments to complete all works by September 30.
He also asked APDCLs to carry out pole shifting works immediately.

District Development Commissioner Dr B Choudhury was entrusted to communicate with National Highways Authority of India for certain works in the meeting.
Mittal also sought co-operation of each department for timely completion of the works.
It is worth mentioning that State Government has already sanctioned Rs 2.85 crores for the development works in and around the ACA stadium.
Along with the officers from PWD Roads and Electrical, Water Resource, Guwahati City Police the representatives from GMC, GMDA and Assam Cricket Association etc were also present in the meeting.
