With an aim of increasing trade ties between India and Bangladesh, an Indo-Bangladesh stakeholders meet will be held on July 19 and July 20 in Guwahati.

The meeting will be held by the Assam government in cooperation with the Union Ministry of Industry and Commerce.

The two day meeting will be attended by a 60 member delegation comprising of eminent dignitaries of Bangladesh government along with various representatives from different ministries of the Indian government.

As per reports, the meeting is expected to be attended by union minister of industry and commerce Piyush Goyal, minister of commerce of Bangladesh Tipu Munshi, minister of foreign affairs of Bangladesh A K Abdul Momen.

Various discussions will be held in the meeting like strategies of movement of goods through different routes like roadways, waterways and airways.

The delegation of both India and Bangladesh will also discuss about the tasks required to be carried out by both the countries in order to ensure a smooth flow of trade that will bring profit to both.

A delegation of five MLAs recently visited Indian High Commission in Dhaka. The members of the delegation had various discussions with the officials of the Indian High Commission.

The delegation went to the capital city of Bangladesh by the first SpiceJet flight that was started between Guwahati and Dhaka as a part of the UDAN scheme.
