Satyakam Dutta, IRS and Deputy Director of Income Tax (investigation) Dibrugarh, has been awarded with a Gold Medal in the South East Asia Short Film Festival in Cambodia for a documentary presented by him.

The documentary  titled  “Finding Beauty in Garbage”  was screened  during the felicitation programme organised at the office of Commissioner  of Income Tax in Dibrugharh  today in presence of distinguished guests and the officers and staff of Income Tax Department Dibrugarh.

Dr. Sashi Kanta Saikia, principal of DHSK College Dibrugarh and the State Ambassador of Swachh Bharat Mission was present in the programme among others.

The short film depicts the  lack of systematic garbage collection and disposal system  in Dibrugarh city where  all the streets have turned into huge garbage dumps. The story is not only relevant for Dibrugarh, it can be seen in any of the towns and cities of Assam and NE.

The basic objective of the film is to carry a strong message to the authorities concerned as well as to general public against throwing of garbage on streets.

The documentary film has also been selected for screening at Ooty Film Festival, 2018 and Bengal International Film Festival.
