As a follow-up action to the meeting of Arunachal Pradesh Governor BD Mishra with the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa in New Delhi on August 1, a team of officers from Indian Air Force, 11 Airmen Selection Centre, Guwahati interacted with the students and faculty members of Government Dera Natung College, Rajiv Gandhi Government Polytechnic College and Don Bosco College, Jullang, here on Tuesday.
Information and Public Relations Director Obang Tayeng, Higher and Technical Education Director, Dr Tayek Talom, Secondary Education Director Gania Leji, Additional Deputy Commissioner Talom Dupak, EAC Toko Babu along with officers from IPR, DHTE, DSE and district administration were present during the interaction.
Interacting with the students and faculty members, IAF officers JWO Surendra Kumar Saxena and Corporal Manish Chaudhary said that the IAF would be conducting a recruitment rally for eligible unmarried male candidates of the State to join as Airmen in Group’ Y’ (non-technical), automobile technician (auto tech) and IAF Police. The rally is scheduled from September 1-5 for the entire North East at Air Force Station Borjhar, Guwahati.
JWO Saxena said the eligibility criteria warrant that a candidate should have passed intermediate, 10+2, or equivalent examination in any stream or subjects approved by Central or State education boards with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English. Candidates born between July 14, 1998, and June 26, 2002 (both days inclusive) are eligible to appear in the recruitment rally. The team of officers exhorted the students to join the armed forces. They also requested the students present at the meeting to share the information with their friends and family members, peers and other members of the society so that the message reaches every individual.
The IAF officials said that under the initiative of the Governor, an Airmen recruitment rally would be held exclusively for the candidates of Arunachal Pradesh in October.
Reiterating the appeal of the Governor, the IAF officials requested the parents, guardians and faculty members of the colleges to encourage the youth of the State to join the IAF.
Chief Secretary Satya Gopal has directed Deputy Commissioners of Itanagar Capital Complex and Ziro to provide logistic support and assistance to the IAF representatives for effective dissemination of the recruitment rally.
Leaving no stone unturned to reach out to the interested and eligible youths of Arunachal Pradesh to appear in the recruitment rally, the CS also directed the IPR director to give proper media coverage and publicity through their medium.
In this regard, earlier a meeting was also held in the chamber of the Secretary to Governo,r Vinod P Kavle to discuss regarding the Air Force recruitment rally. The secretary said that it is a golden opportunity for the unemployed youths of the State to get employed in the IAF.
The team is scheduled to go to Ziro on Wednesday and interact with students of Saint Claret College and Indira Gandhi Technological and Medical Science University there. On Thursday, they will be interacting with students of Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1 and National Institute of Technology, Yupia among others.
So far, more than 15 Airmen recruitment rallies have been conducted involving the State after 2014.
