Gold biscuits from both these passengers had to be filtered out through their stools.
Each gold biscuits weighed 160 grams and were brought into Silchar from neighbouring Myanmar via Mizoram, reported custom officials on condition of anonymity.
It may be noted that, both Silchar and Agartala airports are corridors of such illegal trade and many incidents have occurred at both these places, with an increase, in past one year. Just four days back, on July 11, a similar incident took place at Agartala’s Airport, where one Baccha Lal of Uttar Pradesh, was held with eight gold bars.
