General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 3 Corps, Lieutenant General Rajeev Sirohi called on Arunachal Pradesh Governor BD Mishra at Raj Bhavan in Itanagar on Saturday during which they discussed about the border security issues of State and promotion of recruitment of local youth into the Indian Army.

The Arunachal Governor commended the troops of 3 Corps for their preparedness and élan and expressed his confidence about the security deployment to defend the borders.

He appreciated the Army for maintaining the peace and tranquility in the Frontier State in spite of many challenges which the troops have to face in their area of operation.

The Arunachal Governor hoped that the proactive role of Unit Commander of Indian Army units for motivating and facilitating the youth of the State in joining the Armed Forces will continue in months and years to come.
Mishra also suggested for health awareness camps, games and sports promotional activities and primary level educational initiatives for the benefit of the tiny tots of the far-flung villages collocated with the Army posts.
The GOC of 3 Corps, based at Dimapur, while sharing information on security measures, assured the Governor of ensuring bonhomie amongst the people of Arunachal Pradesh and the Indian Army.
Earlier, Major General RK Jha, General Officer Commanding, 5 Mountain Division, Tenga, West Kameng District also called on the Governor and briefed the Governor regarding the security on border in his divisional sector and civil and military cooperation.
