The two rape accused, who were paraded naked at Yingkiong in Arunachal Pradesh on Monday, were produced before the Judicial Magistrate on Tuesday. On the other hand, search operations for the absconding ones are underway.

As per media reports, the accused have been identified as 21-year-old Tani Mibang and 20-year-old Tapoli Jamoh from Pangkang Jorkong village under Riga circle in the Siang district who were allegedly involved in gang rape of a 17-year-old girl on Sunday evening near Gandhi Bridge along with two other persons, who have been identified as Kajang Tatin (18) and Takiam Mize (20) from the same village.

A police case under IPC section 376/34 and POCSO Act 2012 has been registered against the accused.

Arunachal Pradesh Home Minister Kumar Waii while interacting with the media persons in Naharlagun on Tuesday condemned the incident and assured that justice would be delivered to the victim.

Home Minister Waii also urged everyone concerned to cooperate in fighting against crimes against women and appealed to the citizens to be cautious and remain alert so that such incidents do not recur.

Waii while commenting on parading of the accused naked in the market appealed to the people to refrain from taking law into their hands and to take the matter to the police directly instead of trying to handle it on their own.

Home Minister Waii also asked the police to be sensitive and to act swiftly after receiving information about such crimes in their respective areas.
