He informed that the matter was also discussed with the Deputy Chief Minister and representatives of Joint Action Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) women’s wing as well as student’s wing. Following the discussion, it was decided that fruit vendors will be given 30 days time so that they can be relocated to a suitable place, he added.

Speaking on the licence issue, he said it requires Cabinet decision as the department has no authority for issuing licence, although the department can renew the licence. He said all the necessary decisions including implementation of Building Bye-laws will be taken in all the 27 urban local bodies once the Chief Minister returns back to the State.

He further said that detained volunteers of JCILPS will be released without any condition. It may be mentioned that the State Police on Wednesday detained the JCILPS volunteers after they vandalised the makeshift fruit stalls at Dharamsala, Thangal Bazaar.
