Reiterating its demand for a separate Hirimbapur Autonomous State, Dimasa National Council (DNC) on Monday demanded return of Dimapur to Assam.

The Dimasa National Council has submitted a memorandum to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh in support of their demand.

The Council also stressed on the demand for setting up one administrative unit under the name and style of Hirimbapur Autonomous State under the Article 244 (A) by carving out the entire North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC) in Dima Hasao and include other historic three Dimasa kingdoms including Dimapur, Maibang and Khashpur areas of adjoining Karbi Anglong, Hojai, Cachar, Hailakandi and Karimganj districts of Assam into the proposed Hirimbapur Autonomous State.

“We, the members of Dimasa National Council also appraised the Government of the atrocities of the Naga rebels in some parts of our former territory and opposed the demand of separate Nagalim comprising the land of Assam. This move of Nagalim will be resisted at any cost by DNC. We will not lose an inch of our land…,” said Council president Dhironjay Naiding.
