Demand for autonomous state raised again in New Delhi

Reiterating their demand for an autonomous state, a delegation of Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao Autonomous Council called on Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju on Thursday in New Delhi.

Reiterating their demand for an autonomous state, a delegation of Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao Autonomous Council called on Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju on Thursday in New Delhi.

The delegation was led by of Chief Executive Member of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council Tuli Ram Ranghang.

Raising their demand for an autonomous state the leaders have also asked Rijiju to initiate a political level talk in this direction.

“We were assured by the Home Ministry that there will be a meeting in every quarter over our demands,” Ranghang said.

The delegation has also submitted a memorandum to Rijiju highlighting their demands.

“We continue to believe that the best solution for all issues we have raised and to promote an integrated and peaceful Assam is the creation of autonomous state under Article 244 (A) of the constitution of India,” the delegation said.
