With the decks being cleared, the commercial flight services from Pasighat, the district headquarters of East Siang district, will begin on Monday.

The first flight on Monday will fly on the Kolkata-Guwahati-Pasighat route and vice-versa, TK Saha, coordinator, Alliance Air, reportedly said.

An excited Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu, who is in Guwahati to attend the 3rd conclave of the North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA), on Sunday, tweeted that he would board the first Alliance Air flight from Guwahati to Pasighat on Monday.

Khandu stated, “I shall be onboard tomorrow in Alliance Air, which is set to take off first commercial flight between Guwahati and Pasighat. It will be a proud moment for all of us and a remarkable step in the history of Indian aviation sector.”

On Saturday the East Siang Deputy Commissioner, Tamiyo Tatak and the Superintendent of Police Prashant Gautam supervised the final clearances required for smooth flow of air traffic as demanded by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security, including removal of trees and a beacon along the approach to the runway.

As per reports the Alliance Air (AA), which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Air India, will initially operate services thrice weekly on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. As per report, the planes will fly from Kolkata-Guwahati-Pasighat and return back to Kolkata after around 25 minutes through the same route.

As per reports, promotional fare will be nominal.

The passengers can book tickets from Saturday onwards by visiting the Air India website, Tamuna Messar, Director of Civil Aviation, Arunachal Pradesh, reportedly said.
