Bringing more colour to the ensuing festive season for the school children of Rowta area of Udalguri district, the 136 Bn CRPF distributed various sports goods among school children free of cost.
In this connection, the 136 Bn CRPF, which operates in several lower Assam districts including Darrang and Udalguri districts, on Friday organised a ceremonial distribution function in Danda Saharia Memorial Higher Secondary School at Rowta.
The function was attended by PC Chouhan, Commandant.136 Bn CRPF. headquartered in Nalbari.
The sports goods were presented to the school children in the presence of the representatives of local civil authority, leading citizens, teachers, guardians and other school staff members.
The sports items included volley ball, football, badminton, cricket kits, etc., the 13 Bn CRPF stated in an official press statement received here .
Speaking on the occasion, Commandant Chouhan, while highlighting the main aim of free distribution of sports items among school children, said this is to pursue their individual interests in sports and to excel in the field.
Later, Commandant Chouhan also interacted with the school students and encouraged them to develop sporting culture and brotherhood along with regular studies.
He motivated them to inculcate a disciplined life and make sport an important part of life.
Citing the example of track sensation from Dhing in Assam’s Nagaon district, Hima Das, Chouhan appealed to the girl students to come forward and play for the nation and bring glory to the nation like Hima, the communique further stated .
