One of the state general secretaries of the party, Dilip Saikia is likely to visit Mangaldai and sit across all the aggrieved ward commissioners of the party in presence of chairman Bordoloi.

“Both me and the MLA of Mangaldai Gurujyoti Das earlier advised our ward commissioners to sit and discuss with chairman Bordoloi before taking the decision of raising no confidence. But unfortunately they didn’t pay attention to our advice. Yesterday I informed it to our state unit and party’s state general Secretary Dilip Saikia has assured me to come to Mangaldai and find an acceptable solution to the crisis  within a short period,” said president Nilima Debi.

Earlier on Monday all the nine other ward commissioners in the ten member civic body served a notice to chairman Bordoloi to convene a special meeting as per the provision of the Assam Municipal Act to discuss no confidence motion against him.

Though the ward commissioners who have been the part of the nearly four years old elected civic body, failed to point out any specific charge of corruption and anomalies, they charged him of failure in bringing development to the town besides collapse of the office administration.

It may be mentioned here that the ruling BJP came to power in the Board after Pratap Bordoloi who had won on a Congress ticket joined the saffron party equaling its strength to that of the Congress and helped the ruling party to form the Board with voting supports from the nominated members i.e. the local MP and MLA, both of whom belong to the ruling BJP.
