In a shocking incident, a newly married couple allegedly committed suicide on Monday by jumping in front of a train at Boko in Lower Assam’s Kamrup district. Boko is around 65 kilometres from Guwahati.
Police sources said the couple, identified as Ranmoy Mandal, 30, and Panchami Biswas, 23, from Trilolochan in Boko area died on the spot, when they had jumped in front of a moving train near Boko railway station.
Police have yet to ascertain the reason behind the couple taking extreme step.
“We are investigating into the case. The bodies of the couple have been sent for post-mortem examination,” said a police official.
