The Mizoram PCC on Thursday released its party manifesto for the upcoming polls at Vanapa Hall.

The 21-point manifesto highlighted the Congress pilot project – the NLUP as the major vote chaser saying that the New Economic Development Programme would enhance their NLUP.

Speaking at the manifesto release function Mizoram PCC president as well as chief minister Lal Thanhawla said the Congress is the only party in Mizoram that has a complete package for the development of Mizoram. He said that the MNF’s proposed policies were all replicas of the Congress’ existing policies.

“The MNF knew that NLUP is development oriented and that the people of Mizoram were benefitted from it, so they made a replica project. The NLUP has done wonders, and they knew that, they have made several complaints to the Centre also. But then the NDA government at the Centre, believing that NLUP is the right project for Mizoram has allocated funds for the programme,” Lal Thanhawla said.

In their attempt to lure the young voters the Congress manifesto also promised a laptop for successful candidates of high school leaving certificate and higher secondary exams.

In the health sector the Congress promised to club the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana with the Mizoram State Health Care Scheme so that the poorer section of Mizoram could enjoy the scheme more easily.
