The 46th Directional level Lead Intelligence Agency (LIA) meeting organized by Border Security Force (BSF) was held at the headquarter of the BSF Meghalaya Frontier Umpling in Shillong on Wednesday where several important issues related to counter intelligence were discussed, reports shillingtoday.com.

The BSF is nominated as Lead Intelligence Agency (LIA) by the Group of Ministers (GOM), Government of India on October 22, 2002.

This force has also shown its intelligence worth in the eastern region along the Indo-Bangladesh border in Meghalaya with the help of other central and state government intelligence agencies. The BSF Meghalaya Frontier is manning the 444 kms international border with Bangladesh.

IG BSF Meghalaya Frontier, L Mohanti chaired the meeting. Delegates from various agencies attended the meeting and exchanged intelligence inputs. They also provided feedback on inputs that were shared during last 45th LIA meeting at the Frontier headquarter in Meghalaya on June 19 this year.

Secretary of LIA Meghalaya, U K Nayal, welcomed the delegates and discussed important issues related to counter intelligence, other issues and apprised all participating delegates about the likely impact of forthcoming Bangladesh election on border domination.
