The 191th Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) had organized a blood conation camp that was conducted at at Teliamura Kashiamangal headquarters of remote Tripura.

On the occasion, as many as 40 jawans of the 191st Battalion of the BSF donated blood in the blood donation camp.

The BSF jawans also organized an awareness camp to encourage the locals towards blood donation.

Speaking on the occasion, the BSF personnel said that blood donation is one of the most significant contributions that a person can make towards the society.

They also apprised the locals that it is not harmful for an adult person to donate blood.

The body of the donor can regenerate the blood within few days, they told the local populace of Teliamura region of remote Tripura adding that, It poses no threat to the metabolism of the body.

“Our blood banks are running short of required blood. By organizing such blood donation camps we may help them to enrich their capacity,” said Commandant Himangshu Chowdhury of 191st Battalion of the BSF.

Apart from the commandant, CMO/SG Rajkumar Gupta, CMO-Meneka Bharti, 2IC Sujit kumar and others were present in the programme.
