The national general secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) general secretary Ram Madhav on Saturday said in Nagaland that the BJP has gained acceptance across among people across the country, despite being tagged as a party popular only in the Hindi heartland.
Madhav who is also the party in-charge for the Northeast said BJP has members of Parliament from all the states and union territories, except Kerala.
He was of the view that this itself speaks about how people have accepted the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Addressing the State BJP’s 8th executive meeting cum state convention at Mon town hall, Madhav exuded confidence that the BJP will return to power in the ensuing parliamentary elections.
He further said that the entire north-eastern states, is either ruled by the BJP or NDA allies, adding that the only 16 states among a total of 29 in the country have parliamentarians in the Lok Sabha from the Congress party which is the oldest in the country.
Madhav further urged the party functionaries to reach out to the people to create awareness about the developmental works carried out by the party under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi.
In his keynote address, BJP legislature party leader and deputy chief minister, Y Patton stated that the BJP had decided to hold its state executive meeting at Mon, keeping the party’s commitment in giving equal opportunity to all districts.
Patton exuded confidence that the PDA government in Nagaland will complete its full term under the dynamic leadership of chief minister Neiphiu Rio.
He further urged the party men to work hard and strive for the victory of the PDA candidate for Lok Sabha, Tokheho Yepthomi.
