A prishtha pramukh is the in-charge of a page of electoral rolls. He responsibility is to liaison with the all the voters whose names figure in that page.
โOn March 24, altogether 3,33,000 prishtha pramukhs will be formally handed over the responsibility of taking care of 60 voters each. Our national president Amit Shah will inaugurate the programme,โ state BJP general secretary Dilip Saikia told Northeast Now.

Amit Shah will have meetings with 25,849 booth presidents, 303 mandal presidents, 38 district presidents on March 24, with an aim to make panchayat bodies โCongress muktโ ahead of the elections.
The Panchayat Polls are a crucial factor ahead of the Lok Sabha elections next year.
BJP general secretary (organization) Phanindra Nath Sarma said the party has made significant inroads into the tea garden voters in the state. โThe tea tribe people are showing their interests in the party and minority people are also joining the BJP,โ Sarma said.
Amit Shahโs visit to the state for the meeting is an indication of the degree of importance that the saffron party has attached to the panchayat election.
