Speaking at the inauguration of Main Building Complex of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Utlou Bishnupur district, Biren said that any discontents and issue can be resolved through dialogue.
Former Union Sports Minister Th Chaoba Singh, chairman of Manipur Pollution Control Board L Radhakishore, chairman Tourism Corporation of Manipur Dr Sapam Ranjan, chairman Planning and Development Authority T Robindro Singh, director, PDDUIAS Dr RK Imotomba Singh and others attended the inaugural function.
Stating that bandhs and general strikes severely affect the lives of the common people of the State, he mentioned that such situation also portrays Manipur in bad light to the outside world.
Reiterating the need to stop supporting bandh culture being called out for some vested interest in the State, he stated that now, it’s time to analyse and digest the negative impacts of bandhs and general strikes to the State and people.
Mentioning that the people have experienced good governance in the State, he said the present government has brought visible changes in the State.
According to the NABARD, in the last 18 months, there is economic boom in the State with a steep increase from 10 per cent to 200 per cent in economic activities in the State.
Helicopter services have been started to provide better connectivity between various places of the State. Moreover, direct flight service between Imphal and New Delhi has been introduced, he added.
Reiterating that with the introduction of ‘Go to Village’ mission, various government services are being made available at the people’s doorsteps, he said such initiative has brought positive changes in the governance of the State.
Out of 2660 census villages, around of 1600 villages have been covered in the Go to Village camps.
