In a major crack down, the Khatkhati Police foiled a bid to hijack a loaded 10 wheeler truck along Assam-Nagaland border in East Karbi Anglong on Monday. Police also arrested eight men including the driver and the handyman of the truck in connection with the incident.

As reported, the truck (WB 19G 7465) loaded with processed tea, was on its way to Guwahati from Tinsukia.

However, the driver changed course from the Numuligarh junction and started heading towards Dimapur. The owner who lost contact with his driver noticed the development in the GPS device fitted in his truck and alerted the Khatkhati police of suspected hijacking.
