A four-member delegation of Bangladesh Army led by Major General SM Maitur Rahman, general officer commanding, Infantry Division and Area Commander, visited Eastern Command from June 24 to 28.

The visit was part of enhanced cooperation between both the Armies of the neighbouring countries aimed to promote bonhomie, cooperation and better understanding, said a defence spokesperson.

The visit will go a long way in enhancing the co-operation and inter-operationability between the two Armies.

During the visit, the members of the delegation interacted with Lieutenant General RP Kalita, chief of staff, Headquarter Eastern Command and were briefed on various aspects of Eastern Command.

The delegation also visited Panagarh Military Station and various other places of professional and tourist interest including Jorasanko, the residence of Rabindranath Tagore.
