The Indian Army on Wednesday reiterated that recently-arrested Rishima Narzary was a trained cadre of the anti-talk faction of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB-S) and said her arrest has unsettled the militant outfit.
Guwahati-based Defence PRO, Lt. Col P Khongsai stated this on Wednesday adding that the arrest of Rishima has delivered a lethal blow to the illegitimate activities of NDFB (S) in the region, causing panic among the top leadership of the outfit.

It may be mentioned that the president of NDFB (S), B Saoraigwra recently issued a press release blaming security forces for wrongly implicating a poor lady (Rishima).
“The allegations levelled by the NDFB (S) president are completely baseless. The intention of NDFB (S) top leadership reacting to this operation is maliciously aimed at tarnishing the image of Security forces,” Khongsai added.

The woman cadre of the outfit was nabbed during a search operation launched by joint task force of police and Army from Samudisha No 3 village under Ranikhata police station in Chirang district.
The Army claimed that the arrested lady cadre is wife of one Satya Narzary alias Sohito alias Bayra (trained NDFB (S) cadre.
The Army said that during the search operation, arms, ammunition and other incriminating material were also recovered from the lady cadre, which is a “clear indicative of her involvement in anti-national activities and her affiliation to NDFB (S)”.
