Bandana Rai of Sikkim has won the title of Allure Fashion Tour Miss India 2018. She also won the title of Miss Ramp Walk in the contest. She was the only contestant from entire North-Eastern region in the contest.

19-years-old Bandana is the daughter of Shova Rai and late Dhan Raj Rai of Sichey, Gangtok in East Sikkim. She is a second semester student of Sikkim Government College, Tadong. She had also won the title of Miss Kirawa Rai Sikkim in 2016.

Allure Fashion Tour’s Mrs. & Miss India 2018 were organized by Dev Jindal, the owner of Allure Tabloid at Ashoka Hotel in New Delhi. The competition has three categories of Mrs. Classic, Mrs. India and Miss India. The grooming session of the contest was held from May 1 to 3 and the grand finale was held on May 4.

More than 50 contestants participated in the contest and only 19 were shortlisted in all three categories for the grand finale. In the grand finale, Bandana crowned as Miss India 2018.

Speaking to media persons on her return to home town Gangtok, Bandana expressed her immense happiness on winning the title of Miss India 2018.

“The competition was really tough among the best models from different states and was a learning experience for me. This achievement has further motivated and inspired me to go further in modelling,” she said. On winning the title of Miss India, she has won one year contract with the organisers and also get an offer to act in a South Indian movie.

“I have already started my preparations to get entry and to do well in next season of Femina Miss India beauty contest,” Bandana said. Apart from modelling, she also has interests in acting and dancing. “I wanted to complete my graduation first and then I will fully focus on modelling and acting,” she said.

Shova Rai expressed her happiness and satisfaction on the achievement of her daughter. “She has interest in modelling since her childhood and I am very happy with her achievements. I want every parents should support their children to fulfill their dreams,” she said.
